Farsley finished the 2018-2019 season with double silverware as the Mixed A and Mixed C teams triumphed in the annual Leeds Badminton League cup final day.
The Mixed A’s overcame a strong Kippax team in the Sleightholme Cup, while the Mixed C’s beat Leeds University in a tight match to lift the Fryer Hallam Trophy.
The cup wins followed a strong showing in the leagues where the Men’s A team secured promotion to League 2 and the Men’s B team were promoted to League 3.
There were also strong showings by all three mixed teams, with the Mixed A perhaps attaining the best all-round performance of the season by keeping their place in a very competitive League 2.
Farsley Ladies also achieved their best points tally for many seasons, showing much promise for the 2019-2020 campaign.
Chairman Ian Richardson said: “It’s was a great effort last season by the teams – and we’re looking stronger all-round. It’s great testament to a club that has ambition to get stronger and even more competitive. With our club nights almost at capacity and with coaching throughout the summer, we’re doing all we can to build on our success for the 2019-20 season.”
