The 2016-2017 Badminton Leeds League has come to a close, with two teams from Farsley Celtic gaining promotion.
The Men’s A team took the League 3 title with an impressive haul of 136 points after winning 14 of their 16 games. It is the Club’s 13th Men’s League title.
The Men’s C team are also promoted after finishing runners up in League 4, winning 11 of their 14 games.
Both teams can look forward to competing at higher levels next season.
Elsewhere, Farsley Ladies battled to the cup final despite a testing league season and both mixed teams achieved respectable 3rd and 4th place finishes in their league.
It was a good season too for Farsley Men’s B team, who achieved a fourth place finish in League 4 in their first season together as a team.
Chairman Ian Richardson said: “It’s been a great season for Farsley, with two promotions, two cup finals and respectable finishes for our other teams. I’d like to thank all the players for their commitment across a long, hard but very enjoyable season.”
Good things are expected of all Farsley teams when the 2017-2018 season starts in October.
