Captain’s Report – Mens C Season Review 2016-17

After a difficult 2015-16 season (playing as the B team), Farsley Badminton Club Men’s C team decided to train hard in the close season and make a genuine effort to improve as players and as a team.

It worked.

After finishing the season as league runners-up and gaining promotion, the team also finished with silverware, claiming the Anchor Cup Trophy for the club for the first time in 26 years.

We used the summer to work out our best partnerships and played the whole season in the same three settled pairs.

Finishing with an 11-3 league record and a cup triumph (which included a great semi final win over a very competitive Farsley Men’s A team) we can now look forward to the challenge of League 3.

Congratulations and well played to Richardson, Roach, Sherriff, Osbaldiston and Spry – and many thanks to our crucial stand-ins Barrie, Muddy, Suresh and Josh.
