Captain’s Report – Ladies Season Review 2016-17

Another tough season for Farsley Celtic Badminton Leeds Ladies, in the league, unfortunately finishing last but with real improvement on the previous season. More rubbers were taken and, with the addition of the two new teams,  more competitive games were played.

It was a good season in the cup, however, as Farsley Badminton Leeds Ladies made the final against Harrogate Ladies. It was a tough match, with Farsley just losing out on the handicap system by 5 points. The team put up a strong fight against a team who finished third in the league.

A big thank you to all the girls who played, who always gave their utmost in some very tough matches throughout the season.

This season we lose one of our regular ladies plays, Jo, who has decided to take a year out of her normal life to do some cricket coaching in Africa and to do some traveling. I am sure all the ladies wish her all the best on her travels.

It would be lovely to see more ladies at the Club and in badminton in general. Please feel free to attend on a Club Night on Mondays at 8pm – Deborah Hardwick, Ladies Captain
