In-House Doubles Tournament Marks End of 2015-16 Season

Players from Farsley Celtic Badminton Club Leeds have marked the end of the 2015-16 Leeds and District League season with an in-house doubles tournament.

Immaculately run by events organiser Ian Richardson, who was ably assisted on the night by Chairman John Palfreeman, seeded pairs enjoyed round robin games against four different opponents, with the top two pairs from each half of the draw advancing to the semi finals.

Unbeaten in the first four games, the pairs of Rich Edwards / Simon Osbaldiston and Derek Windsor / Adam Spry advanced to play Sam Hall / Janice Windsor and Graham Pearman / Debs Hardwick in the semis.

Closely fought games saw Hall/Windsor and Pearman/Hardwick take their places in the grand final, which did not disappoint.

In a high-class, rollercoaster rubber, Graham and Debs came out on top, winning 21-18.

Congratulations to all who took part and contributed to an enjoyable and competitive evening.

The event finished off in fine style, with free pints and pizzas in the Farsley AFC clubhouse.

The next in-house tournament will be a singles competition lined up for late summer.
