Captain’s Report – Ladies Season Review 2014/15

Farsley Celtic’s Leeds Ladies Badminton Team are looking forward to the 2015-16 season after battling hard through a tough 2014-15 season.

The team did well to pull together after losing key player April Snow after only two games, even though it is hard to form winning partnerships when you need to rearrange pairings during the season.

I’d like to congratulate our regular players, Imogen, Lynda, Lorraine, Janice and Kirsty for their efforts, as well as thank stand-ins Janet West, Margaret Wakerley and Lucy Astle.

Although the season didn’t go quite as planned, there were still some close and exciting matches along the way – and the whole team will be stronger with the experience.

We need new women players to join the club and, possibly, play in the team and I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage females to join us on a club night, Mondays at 8pm.

We are a sociable and friendly group and if you are an established player or simply looking for exercise and the chance to improve your badminton game in an environment that is female-friendly, then please join us or email Janice Windsor at for more details.

I look forward to welcoming new women members in time for the 2015-16 season.
